Chicago is looking for a motivated individual that possess a high degree of energy and commitment to serve as the Webmaster

Job Requirements:
Supports the Chicago ARTCC’s mission of “Creating a Positive Environment to Learn, Control, and Fly.”
Serves as a Leader to coach and motivate controllers while upholding a culture that builds exceptional internal and external pilot experiences.
Manages and oversees the ARTCCs data services including web content and delivery, web services, email systems, data storage systems, etc.
Must respond quickly to website and data system needs.
Develops and implements policies and procedures for operation and maintenance of the ARTCC web and data systems
Supports and participates in initiatives that give back to the VATSIM community.
Supports the recruitment, retention, and development of a diverse range of talented people.
Holds self and others accountable to high-performance standards while providing pilots with memorable experiences.
Ability to listen to feedback and take constructive action.
Maintains an online presence on the VATSIM server and ZAU TeamSpeak.
Attends periodic meetings to report on ARTCC activities.

Application Requirements:
Must be proficient in modern web programming languages and techniques, including PHP Object Oriented Programming, HTML, PHP/MySQL, CSS, Laravel
Must be an active member of the network in good standing.
Must have excellent written and oral communication skills.
Must be able to work in a team environment.
Must be available for regular correspondence (via the primary means of e-mail), as well as routinely checking VATUSA forums and other outlets for official notices.
Preferred Skills
Demonstrated custom web programming with PHP/MySQL in a production environment, Commercial/Enterprise class experience
Familiarity with APIs for other applications (Google, Twitter, Facebook, etc.)
Candidates can expect an initial evaluation of their application after which they may be contacted for a comprehensive interview.

Announcements / Town Hall Meeting

Our Town Hall meeting is proposed for Monday the 24th at 7 pm EDT 6 pm CDT.
I would like to use this meeting as a way to meet all of the members I have yet to meet in Discord and Introduce myself and Chris to our member!
We invite you to bring your questions, concerns, opinions, and ideas!
This will be an open discussion meeting.
Please arrive in Discord 5-10 minutes prior to the meeting.

Attention all controllers, we ask that you complete this training department survey and share your likes/dislikes with the current way we train here at ZAU. Please provide us with as much information as you can. This will all be used to develop and improve our current training system. Please complete it by Saturday, September 22nd.

Announcements / ZAU Mentor Applications

ZAU members are welcome to submit an application to become a mentor here in ZAU at any time. Please due note that the Training Administrator will determine if there is sufficient training staff and may delay or deny your application depending on the needs of the ARTCC.

Requirements/Duties of a ZAU Mentor

-Reports to the TA
-Must hold at least an S2 Rating and be major certified.
-Work with any student who is progressing toward a rating that is not above that of the mentor.
-Monitor controllers and help answer questions.
-Progress students through training lessons.
-Recommend a controller to an instructor for exam review sessions prior to be assigned any exam.
-May not assign or conduct exams.
-Document all training notes in student training files after each session or monitoring
-Maintain active online presence on the website, forum, Discord, and network.
-Attends training meetings as called by the TA.
-Must post a minimum of 10 hours of training time per month on the ZAU Training Calendar or advise TA of an inability to do so.
-Complete at least one sixty minute or greater training session per month.
-Must complete a minimum of 3 hours of controlling time per month.
-Any staff member (ATM, DATM, TA, EC, FE, WM) acting in the MTR role must complete the minimum controlling hours per month as required by their staff position.
